How we built this

Race, date, status, session and ticket fields come from the same event records as the calendar dataset, so the two never disagree. Travel facts are restated from our venue guides and trip guides, which list their sources at the bottom of the page. Each record names the pages its facts come from (verified.published_on) and the date we last re-read them (verified.checked). Coordinates are the venue’s, for wayfinding. The JSON and CSV are generated on every request.

What we could not verify

8 of the 12 venues have no nearest airport in the dataset yet: we have not published one on the venue’s guide, so the field is null. Two venues (Súper Óvalo Chiapas and Súper Óvalo Potosino) have no travel facts at all yet. SCORE has not announced the exact start/finish site of the 2026 Baja 1000 in Los Cabos, so there is no airport-to-venue distance for it. Drive times are approximate and do not reflect race-day traffic. We do not list flight routes or fares; they change too often to hold in a dataset.

FAQ

Which airport is closest to the Mexico City Grand Prix?

Mexico City International Airport (MEX). It is about 15 minutes by car from the circuit; about 6 km (3.8 miles), roughly 17 minutes by Metro via Line 5 and Line 9.

What does null mean in this dataset?

That Race.mx has not published that detail yet. It never means zero, none or free, and we do not fill gaps with estimates.

Are the recommendations facts?

No. Everything under editorial is the Race.mx editorial team’s opinion, such as which neighborhood to stay in. Facts sit under verified, with the Race.mx pages that publish them and list their sources.

How do I join this to the calendar and venues datasets?

Use event_url, which matches url in calendar.json, and venue_url, which matches url in venues.json. event_id also gives you the single-race calendar file at /event-<event_id>.ics.
