Standings after Chase race 1 at Aguascalientes on Sept 27, ordered by points, as NASCAR México listed them on Oct 6 and again in its Oct 8 Yucatán preview. They replace the unofficial standings (“posiciones extraoficiales”) it published on race day, which had García Jr. and López tied on 2,056 and several other totals different; the series did not explain the change. Rodrigo Rejón and Xavi Razo (2,046) and Alex de Alba Jr., Rubén Rovelo and Julio Rejón (2,041) are tied and listed in the series’ order. NASCAR México’s Aguascalientes race report named the winner “Eloy Sebastián López”; its Oct 6 and Oct 8 standings call him Eloy Falcón, and its earlier reports, including his Tulum 100 win and the regular-season points, call him Eloy Sebastián Falcón, the name Race.mx uses. The Chase opener set for Monterrey on Sept 5 was cancelled when rain left the track unsafe, and it was moved to Yucatán.
How does the NASCAR Mexico Chase work?
- The top 10 in points after the 8-race regular season qualified. A win does not guarantee a place.
- Points were reset by seed: 2,015 for 1st, 2,012 for 2nd, 2,009 for 3rd, 2,006 for 4th, then 2,005 down to 2,000 for 5th through 10th.
- There are no eliminations. Points accumulate across the four Chase races, and the highest total after the Mexico City finale is champion.
