Blue stock car on track at a motorsport event in Mexico City

The NASCAR Mexico Series Chase opener at Autódromo Monterrey on Sept 5 was called off when heavy rain left the track unsafe. The series has moved it to Autódromo Yucatán, which now hosts a two-race weekend on Oct 17–18: the Monterrey make-up on Saturday and the scheduled Chase “semifinal” on Sunday.

It’s the series’ first visit to Yucatán. General grandstand tickets are MX$750 plus fees for both days, with a VIP box at MX$5,000 and free entry for children under 6. The cars go on display on Progreso’s Malecón Tradicional on Friday evening, Oct 16.

The change loads two of the four Chase races into one weekend, which raises the stakes for top seed Rubén García Jr. and defending champion Alex de Alba Jr. The title is still decided at the Mexico City finale on Nov 7–8. Full season details are on our NASCAR Mexico Series hub.
