Mexico’s Flagship Circuit

Named for racing brothers Ricardo and Pedro Rodríguez, Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez (AHR) is Mexico’s largest and most important race track. It hosts the Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix, the Formula E Mexico City E-Prix, and the NASCAR Mexico Series finale.

The signature feature is the stadium section: the final sector threads through the Foro Sol baseball stadium, built inside the old Peraltada curve. Grandstands there create one of the loudest atmospheres on the F1 calendar. At roughly 2,200 m (over 7,000 ft) above sea level, the thin air cuts downforce and engine cooling. That’s why cars run maximum-downforce wings yet still post some of the season’s highest top speeds.
